How to Hang Canvas Wall Hangings

Whether you’re an art lover or just looking for a way to add a little more style to your home, Dittobug is creating hang canvas prints to make an impact on your wall. Canvas prints are archival materials that are not treated with chemicals, so they are safe to hang in your home. You can choose to hang canvas on your own, or you can combine it with other decorative items to create a unique look for your home.

The first step in hanging canvas is to decide where you want to hang it. You may want to hang your art in a large, open space or you may prefer to hang it above furniture. The general rule of thumb is to hang your art at a height that is fifty to seventy percent of the total wall space. The exact placement of your art will depend on the size of the canvas. For example, a large canvas may require additional hardware to hang securely.

Once you’ve decided where you want to hang your canvas, you will need to measure the area. A general rule of thumb is to hang the canvas in a line, with the center of the canvas about six to twelve inches above the object you’re hanging it above. You can use a measuring tape or a bubble level to make sure that your canvas is level.

Once you have measured the space, you’ll need to decide which hanging hardware you’ll use. You can use sawtooth hangers, eye hooks, or D-rings to hang your canvas. You may want to use eye hooks if the canvas is large. The eye hooks should be placed approximately one third of the way down from the top of the canvas.

You may also want to consider using adhesive strips, which are easy to adjust and renter-friendly. You’ll also need to measure the distance from the top of the canvas to the highest point of the picture wire. The distance should be about a half an inch to allow for the weight of the wire. You can also use command hooks, which have sticky adhesive on them.

If you don’t want to use hanging hardware, you can hang your canvas with a nail. To hang a canvas using a nail, you’ll need to hammer a nail into the wall. You’ll also need to place a wooden bar over the nail. Then, you’ll want to add a wire across the back of the canvas, resting it on the nails.

If you’re hanging a large canvas, you may need to use a wire to provide extra stability. The wire should be a length of your canvas plus eight inches, and it should be stretched two to three inches below the canvas. Then, you’ll need to tie a simple knot in the end. You’ll also want to add a few screws to hold the wire in place.

Another option is to use binder clips or clear thumbtacks to hang your canvas. You’ll also need to measure the length of the canvas to determine where to place your hardware.
